Happy Easter! A bit late...

Yikes, I started this post a full week ago and am just now sitting down to finish it. Time is moving too fast. My time management skills went out the window this week.

I can't wait until V gets excited about holidays as much as I do. Until then I'll just subject her to countless holiday-themed pajamas/projects/outfits/celebrations, which in actual fact just make my life more chaotic, but I love it all the same!

We spent half of our weekend at home and did an overnight trip out of town to see family and friends, which was the perfect balance. We started the weekend off with brunch with friends, followed up by some bunny sugar cookie baking, and a day with no plans, really. It was fantastic. Funny how your home-body ways come out even more when you have kids.

While out of town we took V to visit a local dairy farm in the town I grew up in, which of course meant take a quick look at the cows and hit the ice cream shop. V more or less demanded her own ice cream cone, which she then proceeded to eat at lightning speed for fear someone would take it away from her. It is so funny to think how independent she is becoming, it feels like she was just a baby.

We did our Easter egg hunt at my Grams' house this year. V's Easter basket (Frozen basket, of course) contained a few fun bunny eggs filled with stickers or gummy candies, some garden tools, a Mrs. Potato Head, and 2 Easter lift-the-flap books. V loves these books, I'm always on the look out for new ones. Hopefully this doesn't lead her to shun regular books ;)

My family has an old, crazy tradition of an annual "Easter Egg Roll" which has been continued for generations. We pay an entry fee, roll eggs down a ramp, and try and knock out everyone else's eggs. Of course it wouldn't be our family if it wasn't ridiculously competitive. I am usually knocked out early on but managed to squeak in with third place this year. V wasn't a fan ... maybe next year she'll be up for the competition.

This is the only family pic I have from Easter weekend, and of course it is blurry. I included it anyways, as I'm attempting to document family life and what would that be with out a picture of all of us now and then.

Although it's a bit belated... Happy Easter!
